Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored fluid.
The substance had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Police report early analysis indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism made him stunned and required to be solved quickly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
